KYCompanion ("the Service") is designed exclusively for personal safety purposes. It enables individuals to research publicly available information about people they are considering entering into a personal relationship with. The Service aggregates data that is already publicly accessible on the internet and presents it in a structured, easy-to-read format.
You may only use this Service for lawful personal safety purposes. You expressly agree that you will NOT use any report generated by this Service to make decisions about a person's eligibility for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) in the United States, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act), or any equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction.
KYCompanion exclusively uses publicly available information. We do not access, purchase, or use any private databases, government databases, credit reference agencies, criminal record databases, or any data source that requires consent or authorisation to access.
All data sources used by this Service are those that any member of the public could access by conducting their own internet search. The value of this Service lies in automating and aggregating that publicly available research, not in accessing any privileged or private information.
Certain sections of reports contain AI-generated estimates, including but not limited to: estimated nationality or ethnic background, estimated salary ranges, and estimated age ranges. These estimates are clearly labelled throughout the report with an "ESTIMATE" badge.
Estimates are generated by artificial intelligence based on publicly available contextual information. They are NOT verified facts. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You must not treat any estimate as a confirmed fact or rely on it for any decision-making purpose. KYCompanion accepts no liability for any decision made on the basis of an AI-generated estimate.
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, KYCompanion cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information contained in a report. Public data sources may contain errors, outdated information, or information about different individuals with the same name.
Every finding in a report includes a direct link to its original source. We strongly encourage you to click through to the original source and verify any finding before drawing any conclusions. If you believe a finding is incorrect or relates to a different individual, please disregard it.
Reports generated by KYCompanion are advisory in nature only. They are intended to help you identify areas that may warrant further investigation, not to provide definitive conclusions about any individual's character, history, or suitability.
A "Red Flag" in a report does not mean the subject has committed a crime or acted wrongly. It means the system has identified publicly available information that may be worth investigating further. Similarly, the absence of red flags does not mean a person has a clean record — it means no adverse public information was found at the time of the search.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KYCompanion, its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this Service or any report generated by it.
You use this Service entirely at your own risk. KYCompanion is not responsible for any decisions you make based on information contained in a report.
We collect only the information necessary to provide the Service: your account details (name and email via OAuth) and the search queries you submit. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Search queries and generated reports are stored securely and associated with your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We process data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation including UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. By using this Service you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are accessing this Service from India, you additionally acknowledge that the Service operates in compliance with the Information Technology Act 2000 and the DPDP Act 2023 to the extent applicable.
